Q: What is Applied Behavior Analysis and how is it related to health coaching?

A: Applied Behavior Analysis is a science-based, systematic approach to behavior change. It is rooted in motivation and reinforcement.

This is the sustainability aspect of health coaching and how we make your new habits last long-term. We break down outdated behavior patterns and reward systems so you can achieve success based on your current schedule, lifestyle, wants and needs.

Q: How does this work exactly?

Everyone is different and the process is highly customized, which is why it all may seem a bit vague. But, the initial steps are the same across the board-

I’ll have you answer a few questions here and then we will set up your free Discovery Call. This is when I’ll give the full run down of my role and our partnership plus, we’ll dive a bit deeper into where you’re at and where you want to be. It lasts about 30 minutes.

Next, we’ll schedule your Goal Setting Call. This is when we’ll really get clarity on the how and the why for your next steps in becoming the best version of you!

Based on the Goal Setting Call, I’ll recommend a specific course of action I believe will set you up for sustainable success in the shortest amount of time. I don’t have set packages planned ahead of time, so it may look like twice a week for 3 months or once a month for 6 months, etc. It all depends! This is because everyone comes to me from different places with different goals. In the end, I want you to feel comfortable maintaining your habits without me!

Q: Who needs this type of coaching?

A: Health advising can be beneficial for anyone looking to create healthier habits in their life.

It is for the 20-something professional confused about how to eat for her body who is constantly bombarded with contradictory theories in the media.

It is for the first time marathon trainer who needs support in eating for his body type and fitness routine.

It is for the mom of two who needs accountability when it comes to committing to her goals of sticking to a consistent gym schedule.

It is for the professional in the work-force who needs guidance in bringing more mindfulness into their daily life and in determining a sustainable work/life balance.

Q: Do I have to live in NYC or LA to work together?

A: Nope - I have clients all over the world! Sessions are typically done over the phone or Skype to make health coaching as accessible as possible.

Q: How/why are you qualified to do this?

A: I’ve gone through my fair share of disordered eating, fitness struggles, dysfunctional relationships, mindfulness challenges and career rollercoasters. I speak from a place of authenticity, always (honesty and transparency are fundamental components of this partnership).

I also received my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Purchase College and my Master’s of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis from Northeastern University. Additionally, I received my Integrative Health Coaching certification from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition.

Q: What if I just want a meal plan?

A: I am always happy to discuss other options than what I offer on my services page. From customized meal plans, to grocery store tours and pantry clean outs, I do offer additional services as well as payment options. Fill out this form and let’s discuss!

Q: What if I need additional support?

A: Great Q. I am not a Registered Dietician, Nutritionist, Personal Trainer, Doctor or Licensed Therapist. I will always refer out to my network of professionals whom I trust whole-heartedly if I believe your needs are beyond the scope of my practice or if it would be helpful for you to see another professional in tandem. Additionally, if I know of someone who I think you would have greater benefits from working with, I am happy to make that introduction.

Q: Do you host workshops or corporate events?

A: I absolutely do! Send me an email at hello@roottorisehealth.com or fill out this form to chat further. You can find any upcoming events I’m involved in here or by following me on Instagram.
