The 3 Things I Eat (almost) Every Day

Eating habits should be personalized. There are endless articles telling you what to eat and how to eat it but what it comes down to is listening to your body. Below are the 3 foods I incorporate on a daily basis that I’ve found work for me. They fuel me and make me feel amazing from the inside out!

  1. Dark Leafy Greens

This is non-negotiable and I 100% feel it when I don’t incorporate this into my day. The benefits of dark, leafy greens are incredible. They’re packed with calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, zinc and vitamins A, C, E and K. They’re also full of fiber, antioxidants, folate and hydrate your cells on a deeper level than just drinking water. They are also versatile, so they’re easy to add to meals throughout the day - frozen in smoothies, as the base of a salad, in a veggie scramble, snuck into pancakes (yes, I swear!). Must. Must. Must.

2. Green Tea

I love green tea. I always have. Coffee can be hit or miss for me, but green tea is my tried and true BFF. Specifically, I’m a big fan of matcha (derived from the same plant as standard green tea, but instead, is the whole leaf in powdered form). There are a ton of high quality matcha options available to order on the internet and make at home, and in various cafes around NYC. My go-to order is a matcha-cano, AKA matcha + hot water (this allows me to avoid sugar-filled nut milks). Green tea is great because it’s PACKED with antioxidants, fights off free-radicals and gives you sustained energy thanks to L-Theanine rather than a spike. Most days I sip it all day long.

3. Protein Powder

I work out on a daily basis and am plant-based, so getting enough protein is important for me to consider. Having a clean protein powder is a necessity. It keeps me full and replenishes my muscles post workout. I use it in smoothies, oatmeal and also bake with it. My favorites are Tone it Up, Parsley Health and Amazing Grass.
